Good to know
What to expect
Over three consecutive trekking days, you’ll walk across high mountain passes, winding valley trails, and remote terrain, spending full days (~6 hours) on your feet each day. The routes are non-technical but varied, with steady climbs, uneven paths, and altitude reaching just below 2500m, enough to challenge you.
As this trek takes place in December, conditions can be crisp and changeable. Daytime temperatures are often pleasant for walking, but can vary depending on altitude and exposure, so layering is essential. Evenings and nights in the mountains are cold, especially in the higher villages, though snowfall at this altitude is unlikely.
Accommodation in the mountains is simple and authentic shared guest houses where meals are home-cooked, rooms are basic, and the welcome is warm. It’s part of the experience, bringing the group closer together and offering a genuine insight into life in the Atlas.
Evenings are about slowing down, sharing stories, and recovering together before descending from the mountains into the comfort of Kasbah Tamadot. Here, the pace shifts, and the adventure ends with a celebratory finale, combining everything you’ve experienced into one unforgettable finish.

What are the sleeping arrangements?
Our adventures take us far and wide; we see the world with new friends and take on challenges that take us out of our comfort zones. Part of the experience comes from living simply, honouring local culture, and embracing new environments. This can mean sleeping in (very) close quarters, from a tent under the stars, a boat cabin on the water, a hammock in the trees, or occasionally a very nice hotel. Shared spaces help foster connections; through shared laughs and whispered secrets, we form incredible friendships.
Accommodation type
Shared rooms in guesthouses and hotels.
Sharing rooms with your fellow adventures is part of the adventure. Each room usually sleeps 2, sometimes more. Couples together. Friends together. Solo travellers will share on the basis of same gender. We will accommodate twins where possible for solo travellers, occasionally you may share a double bed with your new buddy.
On occasions single supplements are available (at cost) on request.

Expected weather conditions
In early December, the High Atlas Mountains offer cool, crisp conditions that are generally ideal for trekking. Daytime temperatures are typically mild when walking, especially in the sun, but can vary depending on altitude and exposure. Expect cooler conditions as you gain height, with temperatures dropping noticeably in the shade.
Mornings and evenings are cold, particularly in the higher villages (up to 2300m), so warm layers are essential. Overnight temperatures can get close to freezing, although snowfall at this altitude is uncommon at this time of year.
Overall, the key to comfort is layering allowing you to adapt easily to changing conditions throughout the day.
