Who comes?

Probably more people like you than you think.

There isn't a Virgin Adventures type.

Some people arrive knowing half the group. Some know one person. Plenty know absolutely nobody.

There are experienced hikers alongside people buying their first pair of walking boots. Confident sailors and complete beginners. People who have travelled everywhere and people doing something like this for the first time.

What tends to unite them is much simpler.

They're curious. They're up for it. And they've decided they'd rather do something interesting than talk about doing it.

That's usually enough.

Coming Solo

Good. You won't be the only one.

You don't need to assemble a group of friends before you can have an adventure.

Book the trip you want to do and come.

There's something rather liberating about arriving without knowing everybody. Nobody has an assigned role. Nobody is somebody's plus-one. And shared experiences have a habit of getting conversations started rather quickly.

Of course, coming solo doesn't mean spending the trip alone.

Do I have to be super fit?

No. But do read the description.

Some adventures are deliberately more demanding than others.

A day on skis isn't the same as a day sailing. A mountain trek isn't the same as dinner after one.

Every adventure should make the level clear so you can choose something that feels right for you.

You don't need to be the fastest, strongest or most experienced person there.

This isn't an audition.

And yes, there's time to enjoy it

Because adventure shouldn't feel like hard work.

There may be early starts. There may be hills. There may occasionally be weather.

There will also be long lunches, cold drinks, ridiculous conversations, spectacular places and moments when nobody is remotely interested in their step count.

We're interested in great experiences, not suffering for bragging rights.

FAQs

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely. Plenty of people do. You won't be treated differently whether you arrive solo, with a friend or already knowing people from another adventure.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course. Just don't be surprised if you both go home with several more.

Do I need experience?

It depends on the adventure. Some require particular skills or fitness; plenty don't. We'll make that clear before you book.

What's included?

Every adventure page has a clear list of inclusions and exclusions, so you know what you're paying for.

Who will I be travelling with?

People from across the wider Virgin community and their friends and connections, with different backgrounds, ages and levels of experience.

The important bit isn't where everybody works.

It's that they chose the same adventure you did.
